Gas Safety Training and Assessment
The Health and Safety Executive charged CORGI, as part of their approval for registering gas operatives, to develop the Nationally Accredited Certification Scheme (ACS). The new scheme requires individual gas fitting operatives to be assessed on their competence to carry out gas work safely, and to be certified to that effect by a certification body which has demonstrated conformity with European Standards EN45013 and accredited by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS).
The scheme as a whole is intended to promote consistency in the delivery of assessment and verification of a gas fitting operative’s competence to undertake gas work.
