Introduction:

Enables persons who are, or intend to be, Company Directors, to develop a valuable insight into how company law principles and associated legislation operate in civil and criminal law.

On completion delegates will have an awareness of the law as it could affect Company Directors.

Course content:

  • Introduction to Company Law
  • The new Companies Act 2006 (where appropriate)
  • Classification of Directors
  • Directors’ duties, liabilities and responsibilities
  • Other issues relating to Directors e.g. the effects of the law surrounding wrongful and fraudulent trading including the implications of the Fraud Act, 2006
  • Limited Liability Partnerships compared with other partnership status’

Seminar and the use of short assignments during the course to resolve practical Company Director dilemmas.
