Introduction:
This course demystifies financial information and breaks down the key financial documents into manageable sections. It looks at both financial and management accounting and gives the learner a greater understanding of how their decisions affect the business.

Day 1
- Look at the users of accounting information
- Understanding what is contained in the financial statements -Profit and loss account, balance sheet and cash flow statement
- Understanding working capital and the importance of it in a business
- Capital expenditure vs operating expenditure
- Work through different depreciation calculations
- The rules of producing accounts
Day 2
- Evaluating real business performance throughratios
- Understanding different costing methods
- Review the budgeting process
- Look at the hints and tips for better budgeting management including variances
- Understand when to reforecast
- Conduct break-even calculations
