Introduction:

This course is designed for care staff to increase their understanding of dementia and to develop appropriate communication skills for dementia clients.

  • Understand the changes in client communication during the progression of the illness
  • Adapt their communication style to meet individual client needs
  • Empathise with those who have dementia
