Duration:13 sessions over 8 month period - from 4.30pm to 8.30pm 

Introduction:

This is a NEW qualification  developed by the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) and Edexecel/BTEC.  The NVQ assessments are entirely based on an individual's ability to gather suitable work-based evidence. They MUST BE EMPLOYED in a suitable position within a contracting organisation.  Once you have achieved this qualification along with the relevant safety test you will be able to apply for the appropriate level of CSCS card.

Who the course is aimed at:

Suitable for both established construction site managers and those who are developing their abilities in this occupation who have suitable work experience.

Course content:

We offer the General Pathway (82 credit minimum).  Made up of the following eight units:

1.   Maintain health, safety and welfare systems in construction

2.   Manage the performance of teams and individuals in construction

3.   Chair meetings and make decisions in construction

4.   Enhance working relationships in construction

12. Prepare procurement schedules and programmes of works in construction

14. Evaluate and confirm work methods and programme in construction

15. Analyse, monitor and optimise materials, plant and services in construction

16. Control contract work in construction

Assessment:

During each unit of study you will be asked to produce evidence from the workplace that you are competent at undertaking various tasks. When the work is complete and assessed it will be filed in a portfolio of evidence.
