Duration: 3 full days plus practical demonstration and exam
Introduction:
Covering the requirements of BS 7671 for the inspection, testing, certification, practical demonstrations and hands-on experience in preparation for the practical and written exam.
Course objectives/key benefits:
On completion delegates will be able to undertake and record the inspection and testing of fixed electrical installations.
Who the course is aimed at:
Intended for personnel in electrical contracting companies who have responsibility for the quality of the inspection, testing and certification process.
Course content:
Assessment relating to the inspection, testing and certification will be in the following format:
- Induction day, introducing the elements required to attain the C&G 2391 certificate. A further 2 days of instruction followed by a 1/2 day of practical demonstrations and a 1/2 day assessment.
- Assessment relating to the certificate:
- 2391 Inspection, Testing and Certification written paper (short answer) 21/2 hours
- 2391 Inspection, Testing and Certification practicals – 4 hours
- The practical assessment will be carried out on four simulated installation test rigs
- The 2391/001 Inspection, Testing and Certification paper will be in two sections

Course outcome/qualification:
Successful candidates will receive the City & Guilds Certificate (C&G 2391-10).
Pre-requisite knowledge/qualification:
- A good working knowledge of BS 7621:2008 Wiring Regulations
- Have already completed C&G 2360 Part 2 or 2330 Level 3 qualification.
Recommended follow-up course:
C&G 2391-20 Level 3 Certificate in design, erection and verification of electrical installations.
