Introduction:

This course is for those wishing to install air/ground source heat pumps
 

Course objectives/key benefits:

For those with all the identified pre-requisite qualifications listed registration onto the micro-generation scheme can be sought.
 

Who the course is aimed at:

The course is intended for experienced plumbers; heating engineers or gas/oil installers who wish to be able to satisfy the requirements of the building Regulations in relation to this renewable technology.
 

Course content:

  • Understanding heat pump technology
  • Design and installation
  • Feed in tariffs
  • Maintenance of GSHP systems

Powerpoint presentations and hands on practical demonstrations
 

Course outcomes:

BPEC Certificate in Installation/Maintenance of Ground Source Heat Pumps
 

Pre-requisite knowledge/qualifications:

Appropriate NVQ or similar in Plumbing/Heating or a gas/oil certificate; Water Regulation qualification; Unvented dhw qualification.
 

Recommended follow-up courses:

Certification through one of the micro-generation scheme providers
