Course objectives/key benefits:

To develop an individual’s knowledge of the safety requirements, TAGS welding technology and the practical application of the Tungsten Arc Gas Shielded welding process.

 

Who the course is aimed at:

Skilled or semi skilled welders involved in production or maintenance work requiring an introduction or industrial updating of the T.A.G.S welding process.

 

Course content:

  • Safety as applied to the tungsten arc gas shielded welding process
  • Basic principles of the tungsten arc gas shielded welding equipment
  • Correct storage and selection of welding consumables
  • Welds to be completed on steel, and/or stainless steel, and/or aluminium in thicknesses ranging from 1mm - 3mm plate or as appropriate to delegates requirements

Training method:

Classroom theory and practical workshop sessions.

 

Course outcome/qualification:

PTC Certificate of Attendance.

 

In addition, certification associated to welder coding and/or welding procedure(s) can be arranged. Certification applicable to BS4872 and/or BSEN287/equivalent and/or ASME IX as appropriate – please enquire for details.
